We want to send you a big “Thank You” to you from Iraq. We received the golf clubs you donated in the mail sent by Dan Sundt. He said his wife worked for you, so I wanted to give them both a personal thanks as well for helping put all of this together. We didn't know what to say when we got the packages, but “Wow!”. Two sets of clubs, a right and left set, which is great because we have both left and right hitters out here. I can't explain to you enough how great of a gift this was. We have already broken in the clubs, and put some balls down range. We are going to try and rig up some sort of net, so we can just hit as much as we want without having to go get the balls. We put some over the wire here tonight as well, which I have to say was a blast. You have boosted our morale at a time when the cold weather has started to set in over here. We will all get plenty of practice with the sand wedge out here as you can imagine too. Attached is a picture of some future Marine golfers breaking in the clubs. You all are truly special Americans, and your support and gratitude towards us, does not go unnoticed. You remind us of what we are fighting for over here, and how great and supportive our country really is. Keep an eye out on the any marine site as we will post a picture on there as well. Thanks again to you all!

Kirkuk Iraq
All...On behalf of the men of the Kirkuk Iraq Fuels team, I would like to say thank you very much for your gracious donation of the 600 golf balls and tees. You don't know how much this has boasted our morale over here. At every deployed location, there are the same morale items to keep you somewhat happy, but not many places has a place to hit a few golf balls and relieve some stress. This rotation is from Holloman AFB, NM. I am the most avid golfer among the rest but I'm sure I have hooked one or two. I am really looking forward to returning home and playing at a real course with real grass. In fact my son also golfs and has already planned our first trip. Again, thank you so much for your time, donation, and caring. People like you are the ones who help us win the war. It is always the little things that help out the most.

It has been brought to my attention that you responsible for sending us the shipment of hockey sticks. I can't begin to tell you how grateful we are to have them. The fact that we have a chance to play hockey twice a week while in Iraq is amazing. A lot of the guys in my platoon are from the Range also, we play every chance we get. I think we are representing Minnesota Hockey and the WCHA quite well. You might be interested to know that our hockey games have caught the attention of the press. Fox Sports News has traveled here to watch, and interview us. They have put it all in to a story that will air on FSN, July 1st on the Twins pre-game show. If you happen to miss it please let me know and I will try to get a copy of the broadcast sent to you. Mr. Sundt, thank you so very much for sending us a piece of home. The sticks provide us with a way to relax and let the stress melt away. It helps our platoon become a stronger unit, and builds our teamwork. It also reminds us of what we are fighting for. On behalf of all of us that play the greatest game. Thank You!

Thank you for making 3 soldiers' day. We had a blast. SGT Anderson, SGT Coles and myself went out to an area we had cleared and hit the balls that you sent. Anderson had never swung a golf club before. It was great. I wish I had a friend like Ron, to bring golf balls over to my garage every week. I even found some Pro V1's in there. I believe the pictures say more than I can.

Mr. Newby, I received another package today filled with socks and candy canes from you. Thanks for doing that. These socks will go to good use, especially being how cold it has been lately. I will pass them around to my Marines along with the candy canes. Here it is December already, hopefully this month will go by just as fast as the others have been. We had a pretty good meal for Thanksgiving out here, so hopefully we will get the same for Christmas. We are about half way through our deployment now, looking forward to getting into 2007 and getting back to our great country. Looking forward to getting back on the golf course as well. I had a chance to check out the website as well, which is looking good. Tell everyone who is helping with that, we appreciate them more than words can say. I'm out for now. Semper Fi

Good morning all,
Thank you very much for the golf balls and tees. It's important to us to make sure the battlefield airmen
have time to relax and you have made the guys very happy.
Attached are some photos of the guys that were
here last week.
Thank you very much.
